Russian violinist Natasha Lipkina received her education in the former Soviet Union at the Central Special School of Music, and at the Moscow Conservatory of Music. In the United States she has studied at Indiana University with Boris Belenky, Igor Bezrodny, and Miriam Fried. Natasha Lipkina has performed as a celebrated recitalist in Russia and in many Republics of the former Soviet Union, and she has performed a wide repertory of concertos with symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles in Russia, Romania, Germany, Finland, Japan, and the United States. She has won prizes, appearing with great acclaim in the George Enescu Violin Competition in Romania, and in the Dmitri Shostakovich Chamber Music Competition in St. Petersburg. She has performed on Moscow Radio and the on the Russian Television Broadcasting Network . While at Indiana University, Ms. Lipkina began to study the viola repertory with Professor Atar Arad and made her debut as a violist with the Dubinsky Quartet. Participating in festivals as a violinist and as a violist as well she takes a particularly broad interest in repertory for the solo viola. These festivals include, among others, the Norfolk Festival, the Marlboro Festival, the Rauma Festival (Finland), the Waterloo Festival (Belgium), and Musique et Amitie (Switzerland) . Ms. Lipkina is a committed teacher who is capable of imparting the highest musical principles at every level of performance.and study. She has been on the faculty of the music department at New York University's School of Education and she has taught with great success at the Children's Orchestra Society. |
