the Samurai

Ensemble East is a chamber music ensemble
featuring Japanese instruments: Koto, Shamisen, and Shakuhachi. The group
has toured throughout the US, South America and the Caribbean and each
individual member has a distinguished international performing and recording
career. Ensembe East performs the classical music of Japan's Edo period
as well as modern and contemporary ensemble music for Japanese instruments.
The Program on March 13 will feature the premiere of James
Nyoraku Schlefer's "Sankyoku No. 1," plus music of Miyagi Michiyo,
Hikaru Sawai, and Elizabeth Falconer.
